Info on Bob Taylor Guitars

Taylor Guitars being production in 1974. The two men started the company named Bob Taylor and Kurt Listug.

Taylor guitars are designed with a patented bolt on the neck.

This is different than other necks either the glued on or bolt on types. This is a Taylor Guitars new technology. What this bold on the neck does is supports the fretboard with a piece of wood that goes continuously down to the nineteenth fret. Typically this wood runs down to the fourteenth fret, leaving the rest unsupported and glued to the soundboard.

Taylor guitars are also known for their pickup system. They contain a patented pick-up that has the humbukcly induction mounted into the neck.

It also contains two transducer dynamic soundboards which are wired on the pre-amplified board.

In the beginning the Taylor guitars used AA batteries for their power source. These Taylor guitars now use a 9 Volt battery.

Some of the Taylor guitar models are the Acoustic Models, Presentation series, 100 and 200 Series, Baby Taylors and the Cutaway Acoustic and Cutaway Electric models.

The Cutaway Acoustic and Cutaway Electric are outfitted with the Taylor Expression System.

The Taylor Acoustic Guitars Acoustic does not include the cutaway.

The top guitar made by Taylor Guitars is their Presentation Series. These are constructed using the oldest and best master grade wood. These typically will be made with the rare and expensive Brazilian rosewood. This wood is considered by guitar enthusiasts to be the definitive tone wood.
